NCI Brancaster spot persons cut off by tide

Watchkeepers at NCI Brancaster observed five persons seen on Scolt Head Island who had become cut off from the mainland by the incoming tide. All five entered the water, however quickly returned to the island whilst 2 carried on and made it to the beach. HMCG were informed by the watch while the incident unfolded. RNLI Hunstanton was tasked to attend while HMCG were informed that the 3 on the island had started to walk towards Brancaster Staithe Harbour, although there is no crossing point in that direction. The casualties returned back into the purview of the NCI Brancaster and made their way slightly inland around the rear of the Natural England summer cabin. The RNLI Hovercraft arrived on scene and the Coastguard were updated with the location of the casualties. One RNLI crew member was dispatched from the hovercraft and found the casualties sheltering and brought them to board the hovercraft. The casualties were then landed on the beach and handed to Coastguard rescue who checked them over. Despite being cold and wet, no medical attention was required.
