NCI Charlestown received a call from the Coastguard following a police report of a person on the rocks at Charlestown. The watchkeeper carried out a visual check and located the individual about 20′ up cliff face on rocks leading to Polmear Island. This was reported back to the Coastguard who mobilised a unit. The police were also onsite and the lifeboat was called. The fire service attended, the casualty was harnessed and lowered down the cliff to safety.
