On Saturday 25 May 2024 both Calshot Tower QAVS & Stone Point Stations attended an Emergency Services Day event at Gang Warily Recreation Centre. The event was brilliantly organised and coordinated by Fawley Parish Council with the location and site facilities being “spot on” with the weather being kind to us…………..at last!
The event hosted National Coastwatch Institution, Hampshire Police, Hampshire Fire & Rescue, South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, RNLI, Solent Rescue, Hampshire Search & Rescue, HM Coastguard & Vehicle Preservation Societies.
The binoculars were a hit with visitors and children who were trying to find the NCI Watchkeeper on the top of the Fawley Refinery chimneys and also having a try on our radios using set radio scripts.
It was a great event to increase awareness about the NCI, what we do and our part within the SAR community and services.
Picture shows our stand and from left to right: Helena Carr (WK), Eric Taylor (WK & Sector Manager/Head of Operations NCI), Paul Marshall (WK & Fundraising) & Karen Pierce (WK & Rota Officer).
