This may be a first for NCI!
Ten or so days ago, we were contacted by Bastian H who mentioned he and his girlfriend, Anja O, both from Germany, would be on the Lizard Peninsula for a holiday. They have been several times before, and love the area around Bass Point.
Bastian wanted to take the opportunity at Bass Point to propose to Anja, and asked if we would look after the rings and a bottle of bubbly beforehand, from early in the morning.
Around 1230hrs, he turned up with Anja on the pretext of going for a walk and they took a rest on a bench just outside the watch station.
On a signal from him, we produced the rings, bottle and glasses for him to pop the question.
And in case you’re wondering, she did say “YES”!
