NCI Deputy Chairman Ian Whalley Awarded MBE

31st December 2022. Deputy Chairman and NCI Trustee Ian Whalley has been awarded the MBE in the Kings New Year’s Honours list. NCI Chairman Clive Pouncey made the following announcement this morning

“It is with great pleasure I can inform you that our Deputy Chairman Ian Whalley has been honoured as a Member of the British Empire in the King’s New Year’s Honours list for services to public safety.
Ian has been a Trustee for over 10 years and in that time he has been responsible for raising many thousands of pounds from corporate sponsors, opening several new stations along the east coast and continues to mount a weekly watch at NCI Skegness. These are just a glimpse of his achievements within NCI.”

The citation on the Kings Honours list reads “Ian Granville Whalley. Deputy Chair, National Fundraising Officer and Volunteer Senior Watchkeeper, National Coastwatch Institute. For services to Public Safety and to Charity.”
