NCI EXMOUTH WATER SAFETY TEAM HAVE A SUCCESSFUL DAY AT LADRAM BAY

11th April 2023 Today was a  sunny and successful day for the National Coastwatch Institutions Coastal safety team from NCI Exmouth at Ladram Bay.

Karen Goldby (Coastal Safety Officer for NCI Exmouth). Said “We are grateful to the owners of Ladram Bay for the opportunity to interact with holiday makers and give out advise , leaflets, and freebies such as waterproof mobile phone cases and wrist bands with the message ‘ Float to Live ‘ on.  Coastal Safety is a new initiative being launched by the NCI to help and advise water users in the area. You can expect to see tour team in action outside Coast Watch House on Queens Parade during the summer months. This was our first event of the season and I am pleased with how much positive response we had from the public.”

Todays event was well received by families and individuals heading for the windy beach. Children loved the water safety booklets and the odd paddle boarders who ventured down were grateful for the waterproof craft ID stickers and phone pouches we were able to supply. A few boat owners were around and craft not being hired out so todays thrust was on safety on the beach and coastal walking.
