Motor Vessel drifting

A motor vessel with engine failure was drifting 0.5 nm south of Portsmouth harbour entrance. They called the King’s Harbour Master who notified other shipping in the area. The harbour police launch confirmed they may be able to attend. NCI Gosport watchkeepers notified the Coastguard of the incident and that the police launch had transited the harbour entrance towards casualty vessel which had drifted NW of its original reported position. The police launch was able to establish a tow of the stricken vessel and secure it safely back in the marina.
