How can I Support Wooltack Point

Join as a Watchkeeper

Aerial view of Wooltack Point

We ask that our watchkeepers commit themselves to at least two watches a month (many do more).

You don't need any experience as we will make sure that you are familiar with all our equipment before letting you loose!

The main point of watchkeeping is to keep an eye out for and recognise any problems which might occur at sea or on the coastal path.

We are inclusive and welcome people from all walks of life and background.

If you are interested in joining us we will arrange for you to visit the station to see exactly what we do before you make any commitment. To do this you can:-

1. Phone the Manager on 07927 321164

2. E-mail us using this link

Join our 50/50 club and Win Cash Prizes

It may be that you feel that we are doing a worthwhile job and would like to support us financially without any other commitment.

We do have a group of businesses and individuals who make an annual donation by standing order - If you feel that you could support us in this way, please contact us by e-mail and we would be very pleased to let you have details of how to set this up.

Give to our collecting Boxes

Apart from our 'live' collections outside the major supermarkets from time to time, we have boxes strategically placed in many pubs, shops and clubs.

We do have some spares - so if you have a cash business and a spare corner on your counter please contact us by email and we will happily supply a box.

If you spot one of our boxes - Please give generously as all our funding comes from voluntary contributions.

About

Currently almost 60 National Coastwatch stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteer watchkeepers around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Filey in North Yorkshire.

National Coastwatch watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility. They are trained to deal with emergencies offering a variety of skills and experience, and full training by the National Coastwatch ensures that high standards are met.
