New Members Wanted

As of November 2016 we have 44 watchkeepers and 10 members under training but we are always looking for more people to join.

We are officially open every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays but we also open every Friday's, Monday's and Tuesdays aswell when we have enough watchkeepers available. It is hoped that we will in time have enough members to open 7 days aweek. The watches are as follows : Summer Hours 09.00 - 13.00 and 13.00- 17.00 and Winter Hours are 09.00 - 12.30 and 12.30 - 16.00.

If you a few hours every month to spare, to do something different and worthwhile then give the station a call to arrange a visit and see if you would like to give it a try.

About

Currently almost 60 National Coastwatch stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteer watchkeepers around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Filey in North Yorkshire.

National Coastwatch watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility. They are trained to deal with emergencies offering a variety of skills and experience, and full training by the National Coastwatch ensures that high standards are met.
