NEW HOME FOR NCI HENGISBURY HEAD'S TEAM

10th August 2018., The team of volunteers at Hengisbury Head have moved to their new lookout at the top of Warren Hill.

After several months operating from a temporary lookout, the National Coastwatch institution volunteers finally closed the doors of their lookout on the evening of Monday 6th August. This was followed by three days of intensive work as the volunteers stripped out the old lookout and reinstalled all their vital equipment in their new watch station, Following this transformation, NCI Hengisbury Head proudly reopened for business on the morning of Friday 10th August in its new home. The lookout has been established in the disused HM Coastguard station situated on the top of Warren Hill, where it commands stunning views over Christchurch and Poole Bays along with Christchurch Harbour.

Acting Station Manager Brian Roberts said “Well done to all who helped with the transformation. We really couldn’t have done it without you! Thanks to everyone who makes the Station what it is”.
