NCI GREAT ORME ARE SUPPORTED BY THE CO OP LOCAL COMMUNITY FUND

24th October 2020. The volunteers at NCI Great Orme are being supported by the Co Op’s Local Community Fund. This scheme runs for a whole year from today.

The team at NCI Great Orme will feature on posters in Coop's and coop funeral homes as part of the Coop's campaign for the Local Community Fund. Its easy to support them, either log onto the Co Op website or download the Co Op app and choose NCI Great Orme. Every time you spend money at your local Co Op they will  benefit from it … its that simple and it doesn’t cost you a penny to help the NCI.

The NCI “poster boys” featured on the local photo shoot were, from left to right, Trainee Watchkeeper Bachir Terdjat (our first Algerian Recruit) Deputy Station Manager John Winch, Station Manager John Humberstone and Training Officer Gary Fernades.

About

Currently almost 60 National Coastwatch stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteer watchkeepers around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Filey in North Yorkshire.

National Coastwatch watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility. They are trained to deal with emergencies offering a variety of skills and experience, and full training by the National Coastwatch ensures that high standards are met.
