LAST OF NCI RAME HEAD’S ORIGINAL WATCH KEEPERS HANG UP THEIR BINOCULARS

4th September 2018. The end of an era occurred NCI Rame Head at the end of August, when Janet and Andrew Lockett decided to hang up their binoculars for the last time.

Janet and Andrew were both qualified when the lookout first opened in May 1998, and they are the last of the original watch keepers from all those years ago. During their time at the Rame Head station they have worked with eight station managers. In May this year, they were presented with their twenty year certificates and badges by The National Chairman, obviously the first at Rame Head to receive such an honour. Station Manager, Colin Scott, along with Deputy manager Arnie Kaptein, and David Taylor, training officer, were present at their last watch and presented them with a small momento of their time at Rame Head, to thank them both for 20 years of loyal service to the NCI.
