22 July 2011 - The old coastguard station at Rhoscolyn on Anglesey has been re-opened as a National Coastwatch lookout station. The opening ceremony took place on 20 July in the presence of Susan Davies, the station’s Coastguard Liaison Officer (pictured).
Many of the stations new volunteers were present together with the coxswain and crew of the local RNLI lifeboat which had been recently launched by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
David Littlemore will be the new station’s acting manager. Rhoscolyn is the second station to open in North Wales following the opening of NCI Porthdinllaen on the Lleyn Peninsula in April 2010.
